SuperPro vs. Beeprog Comparison

144pindrivers vs. 48pindrivers Support (*1, *4, *6)

Many of today’s complex ICs come in large pin-count packages. A 48pin programmer requires specialized (non-universal) socket adapters to be used in order to support larger than 48pin devices. Unused or unrelated pin connections are removed in order to be able to fit within 48pin sockets of the programmer.

However, this creates a major problem of pin compatibility among different IC devices because they are different for each pin connection. This requires having to create a device specific socket adapter (or pin conversion PCB) for each different device. For example, in Beeprog series 48pin programmers, QFP64 socket adapter comes with 70+ variations and QFP100 socket adapter comes with 60+ variations!

On the other hand, SuperPro5000/ 5000E models are equipped with 144pins. There is only one QFP64 or QFP100 socket adapter needed. Each adapter is fully universal for all IC devices of the same package type. So, one Xeltek QFP64 adapter does the job of 70+ Elnec QFP64 adapters (or one adapter plus 70+ pin-conversion PCBs)!

A user of Beeprog2/+ programmer will have to come back and order more parts frequently. In combination with additional costs and shipping charges, time wasted to order a new part and waiting for it could amount to substantial additional cost and time lost. Also, whenever there is a new QFP64 device that comes out in the market, chances are that a new adapter (or a conversion PCB) has to be designed. Who has time to waste when a product development cycle time is ever shortening in today’s market?

Another important issue is of the reliability of the socket adapter. We have found out in the past that contact problems tend to crop up here and there in the course of adapter usage. The problem gets more frequent when the socket adapter is subject to frequent insertions. So, in order to minimize the adapter contact problem, Xeltek introduced new CX series 144pin adapters, which employs industrial grade high-quality socket connectors. While common socket adapters use 2 layers (top and bottom) of PCBs interconnected together, CX adapters have a single layer of PCB. Combined, they improve the overall reliability required for demanding engineering and industrial applications.

In summary, Xeltek SuperPro5000/ 5000E model programmers and socket adapters are designed and built for Engineering and Industrial applications, which demands high performance and reliability.

Stand-Alone Mode Operation vs. Multi-Programming (*2, *5)

SuperPro5000 /5000E programmers come with dual operation modes: PC connected and Stand-alone. During the development cycle, PC mode is used. When volume programming is required, Stand- alone mode is recommended. In order to operate in Stand-alone mode, a device project file is created first. Project file consists of the device programming algorithm, data to be programmed, etc. The file is stored onto a Compact Flash (CF) card, which is plugged into the back of the programmer unit. At this point, the programmer can be detached from the PC and operated stand- alone via the keyboard and display on the programmer.

Advantages of operating in Stand- alone mode are as follows.

  • For volume programming, an operator can handle multiple units as many as the table space will allow. There is no fixed number such as in 4 or 8gang programmers. Depending on the programming requirement, the number of units can be quickly adjusted for optimum operation. For example, chips with short program time will need a smaller number of programmers such as 1 or 2, and for time consuming devices such as NAND flash devices more programmers can be used.

  • In contrast, multi programming mode used by Beeprog programmers requires a PC with multi-port USB hub to be used. This creates a number of undesirable situations.
    1. a. Additional cost: of maintaining a PC. People tend to forget the cost of an additional PC when calculating overall cost.
      b. Manpower cost: Requires an experienced operator to operate on a PC at additional manpower cost. In the SuperPro Stand- alone mode operation, operator only has to remove a programmed chip and insert a blank chip. All other operations are done automatically.
      c. Expandability: Maximum number of units allowed for connection is 8. In the SuperPro Stand-alone operation, limitation is the size of table space and length of arm of the operator.
      d. Operator Reliability: PC operation by an operator can lead to mistakes. Hands- free operation and without a PC for SuperPro Stand-alone operation eliminates operator mistake.
      e. PC Reliability: PC operation in the factory environment can lead to shut-down, crash, data contamination, virus infection, etc.
      f. Data Security: Data in a PC is susceptible to be copied and misused. In the SuperPro operation, the CF card containing project file can be removed for safekeeping at the end of each day.
      g. Field Service: SuperPro programmers operate from 12VDC outlet of a car or other source in Stand- alone mode.

Device Algorithm Processor (*3)

SuperPro family of programmers utilizes RISC32 MCUs including ARM7, ARM9, and ARM11 across various models. Linux operating system is also used.

The setup provides high performance programming and flexible operational environment unmatched by most other low-cost programmers.

Price and performance (*7)

Xeltek SuperPro family of programmers set themselves apart from other low-cost programmers by providing the highest number of devices supported, 144pin universal pin-drivers, unique dual- mode Stand- alone and PC mode operations, high performance algorithm processing engine, rugged and reliable socket adapters, and expedient customer support.

A user of Xeltek SuperPro programmers will experience easy to use and reliably operating programmer, fast device update service, expedient technical support, long lasting, and easy setup for Engineering or volume production environment. Be aware of hidden cost of other low-cost setup.

Why Cluster Programming?

High volume production can be easily achieved by operating multiple standalone programmers such as SP501S or SP5000E concurrently.

Clustering programmers provides flexible, easy and cost effective way of volume production over traditional parallel programming. A setup could begin at 2 unit cluster and grow up to 15unit cluster.

In cluster programming, each unit (socket) operates independently of others. An operator will be busy removing programmed chips and inserting new chips. In optimally arranged setup there will be no idle time for the operator or the programmers.

In contrast, in the fixed socket parallel programming, all chips begin and end programming simultaneously. So, while chips are being programmed operator will be idled and while the operator is removing and inserting chips programmer will be idled.

For example, if a chip takes 20seconds to program and operator takes 5 seconds to remove and insert a chip, 5 unit cluster setup will operate optimally without any idle time.

While the operator takes 20 sec to remove/ insert chips on 4 sockets, the 5th socket will have finished programming and be ready for the new chip to be inserted. On the other hand, 8 gang parallel programming will require 40 seconds (8sockets * 5sec) operator time and 20 sec program time.

In the 5 cluster operation, program time for each chip is 5 sec, which results in 720 chips/hr throughput. In the 8 gang parallel programming 8 chips are programmed in 60 sec, which yields 480 chip/hr throughput.

If a chip takes 5sec to program, then 2 cluster station will produce optimum efficiency at 720 chips/hr throughput. In the 8 gang parallel programming, operator time will be 40 sec and program time will be 5 sec yielding 640 chips/hr throughput.

Following conclusion can be made from above examples.

  • In cluster operation, number of units can be adjusted according to program time of the chip providing optimum efficiency at the lowest cost for any environment.

  • In the fixed socket parallel programming, there will always be wasted idle time and it will get worse if the program time of the chip gets less.

There are additional hardware considerations as listed below.

  • In the cluster setup, only the defective unit can be removed and the rest will continue to operate. In the fixed socket parallel programming, any defect in a socket will require the entire unit to be sent back for repair.

  • If any chip is found to be defective, parallel programmer will not Program/Verify/Blank Check any of the devices and you will get an error message. In the case of using cluster programmer which has modular design; only one module will stop where remaining modules will continue.

Since 2010, Xeltek has been offering SuperPro 5004GP, SuperPro 5004EGP, and SuperPro 501S 4-C as production programming solutions. Considering the outcome, and the performance; SuperPro Cluster Programmers once again gives the highest value in return.

Xeltek is celebrating the success of reaching 60,000 devices support first for the Industry

Xeltek is proud to announce its achievement of supporting over 60,000 different devices on one single programmer, as the first and only company in the World. To celebrate this honor, and share this joy; Xeltek is offering 15% discounts on two stand-alone models; SuperPro 5000 and SuperPro 501S device programmers.

In August 2000, Xeltek brought a new term; Stand-alone Programming, to the device programming industry by introducing SuperPro 2000. As it is well known, SuperPro 2000 was the first stand-alone programmer that was designed with an LCD screen and digital buttons. By definition, stand-alone feature adds ability to the programmer of being used on computer free platforms. In other words, you can program the device without plugging your programmer to the PC. This gives you the mobility and flexibility of untied programming experience. It was a big milestone for device programmers industry. And Xeltek is the pioneer of stand-alone feature, and yet the only manufacturer who represents this unique feature to the users over the last 10 years.

If the programmer has stand-alone feature I addition to PC mode, each algorithm has to be developed twice since the one work on PC mode, doesn’t work on stand-alone mode. From this point of view, offering a stand-alone programmer (i.e. SuperPro 5000/5000E, SuperPro 501S, or SuperPro IS01) means offering two programmers in one price. And Xeltek has the technology and the capability to introduce new stand-alone programmers each year, and at the same time preserves its reputation and the rank within the industry by supplying high quality programmers with the largest device support in the world!

Please enjoy this special offer of Xeltek by getting instant 15% discount on our stand-alone programmers; SuperPro 5000 and/or SuperPro 501S. Any socket adapters purchased with these two models will also be eligible to get %15 discounts. This special offer begins on 18th of June, 2010 and it is valid for a limited time only. In order to get this special discount, please place your order through a sales representative by either emailing sales@xeltek.com or calling +1 (408) 530 8080 ext# 600

Important announcement by Xeltek about illegal SuperPro 580U/280U sales

Important announcement by Xeltek about illegal SuperPro 580U/280U sales

It is our duty to inform you ahead about the recent illegal activities on the market. As you may know, Xeltek has discontinued SuperPro 3000 series programmers such as SuperPro 3000U, SuperPro 9000U, SuperPro 580U, and SuperPro 280U early 2010; and have been selling SuperPro 5000 series programmers instead, such as SuperPro 5000/5000E, SuperPro 5004GP/5004EGP, SuperPro 501S, and SuperPro 500P besides SuperPro IS01 and SuperBOT, Some of our authorized distributor may still offer those discontinued programmers because of having overstock items. However, as we had witnessed recently, some Chinese companies had managed to copy SuperPro 580U and SuperPro 280U programmers, and have been releasing those illegal copies to the market. We strongly recommend you not to buy SuperPro 580U and SuperPro 280U from those unauthorized sellers as they have no after sales support or warranty.

Help to stop Xeltek Piracy by being a sensitive royal user of SuperPro by checking with us before purchasing those units:

Xeltek SuperPro 5000 programmers now on the market with economy versions

Since Xeltek launched SuperPro 5000 Universal Programmer in 2008, it became one of the most sought after programmers in the industry today. The market was ripe for a programmer of such a caliber. And it filled that gap with its high performance, and reasonably low price. Prior to our introduction of
SuperPro 5000
, the other high quality programmers have been selling for $5000-$10000. However, currently SuperPro 5000 and
SuperPro 5000E
has been serving the industry between $1495 to $1995 per unit prices, with unquestionable better features.

  • As of April, 2010; SuperPro 5000 supports over 59,000 devices, largest for the industry. In a very short time, this support number will exceed 60,000 barrier.

  • Acts like 2 programmers in one unit with Stand-alone Mode and PC mode. LCD screen allows it to be controlled without a computer, and CF card slot allows you to save your project files.

  • With built-in 32bit RISC MCU processor allows you to program at very fast speeds unlike other FBGA based device programmers.

  • With its advanced technology and well developed device support algorithms, it programs 1Gb NAND Flash device in 108 seconds.

  • Comes with 1 year device support request service for free. However, regular factory updates continues even after warranty period (currently 1000 device added every month).

  • Comes with 2-years standard warranty.

  • 144-pin drivers structure allows it to support recent and large size devices with highest performance.

  • Programs devices with Vcc as low as 1.2V.

  • Supports any Windows Operating Systems including Win 7 64bit.

  • In System/In Circuit programming capability through optional ISP/ICP adapter.

  • Besides commoditized standards, it is a lead-free (RoHS) programmer with approved CE certificate

Basically SuperPro 5000 and SuperPro 5000E provides anything and everything you need for high quality programming experience. And Xeltek is the proud manufacturer of this one of a kind programmer family.

Please do not hesitate to contact our sales department for additional questions at sales (at) Xeltek (dot) com.

How to search for a device support prior to purchase of SuperPro programmer?

Every day, we receive bunch of device part numbers followed by the question: "Which programmers support my chip?". In order to help you with these type of inquiries, we would like to give a quick demonstration about how to serve those customers, and what would be the proper way to come up with the results in a quicker way.

Let's say we received the following part number "ATMEGA2561" from a customer. We should simply go to Xeltek device search tool on Xeltek website, or device search tool that is integrated to your websites (more information will be provided about integrating this tool by the end of this article).

You can either search the part number by typing inside the device search icon on Xeltek main template:

Or you can go to advanced device search page and use advanced searching options: http://www.xeltek.com/device_search/search.php

Once you type the device part number, and click on search button; the system will start to scan thousands of devices within Xeltek device support database, and upon your selective approach it will list all the devices that include the part number you filled in the box. If it cannot find the exact match, it may list all the similar part numbers considering you had a typo.

As you can see above, the list resulted 2 part numbers. Since "ATMEGA2561V" also includes "ATMEGA2561", Xeltek database showed both of them. At this point, if we know what is the device package type, we should click on that link that are listed under "Package" column (e.g.: click on MLF64); otherwise, to list the device support with all package types click on the device part number itself (e.g.: ATMEGA2561). Let's click on device part number and see the entire list:

Let's say we are looking for TQFP64 package type, and we are interested in SuperPro 5000 which is on the third row of the results. By clicking the SuperPro 5000 link, we can be directed to the product page for more information (if the user is coming from distributor's website, he/she will be directed back to SuperPro 5000 product page on distributor's website). Or if we already know we are going to buy SuperPro 5000, with the help of this tool we can also see what type of socket adapter we should get. According to the list above, in order to program "ATMEGA2561-TQFP64" on SuperPro 5000, we should also get CX3013 socket adapter. To get more information about socket adapters, please link to CX socket adapter page:

http://www.xeltek.com/adapter/cx_adapter.php

What if I cannot find a match?

It is hard to believe searching a device part number that is not supported by our largest device support list within the industry; but once in a while it may happen. At those times, first thing you should do is going to Google Search or any search engine to check if the given part number is correct. For example, let's say "EN291V040A" has been given by the customer. And our searched returned as follows:

And we decided to check Google for that device part number's accuracy and we face such a result:

The page above tells you the part number is wrong. In these cases, we suggest you contacting your customer back and ask for the right part number. Going back to our example, we know that the right part number should be " EN29LV040A"; one letter changes everything!

What if Google approves the part number but still no match on the system?

There is also possibility of receiving full part number from a customer such as " ATMEGA2561V-8AU-ND", and again the system will show no matches. For these kind of cases, you should enter more generic part number without speed grade, temperatures, and package codes. And the correct part number for this example "-8AU-ND" should be omitted, and should be searched as "ATMEGA2561V".

If you still can't list the results, it means somehow Xeltek is not supporting the device yet. For this case, please submit the form for requesting new device support through the web page below:

http://www.xeltek.com/pages.php?pageid=227

Did you know that you can install Device Search Tool on to your website?

Yes it is true. You can install this tool on your website, and serve your customers quickly and easily. It is such an effective tool, that you don't even need to contact the Xeltek representative and wait for their answer, since different time zones may create delays with the answers.

And installing device search tool is as easy as adding a new image to your website. All you need to do is adding this image:

http://www.xeltek.com/images/devicesearch01.gif

or any Xeltek device search tool image:

to your website where your customers can easily see. Having a descriptive short text below/next to it would be very helpful for your customers. And after you insert it you should link it to the unique URL address that Xeltek web team will assign you such as :

http://www.xeltek.com/device_search/search.php?company=XXX

The number at the end of the link will help us to link back to your website since device search tool will be hosted from www.xeltek.com. For this reason, having all product pages present on your website is a requirement for using device search tool. Otherwise, customers who started to use this tool initially from your website, won't be back. Please have all product pages present prior to request device search tool integration. Please also remember that Xeltek web designers will happily insert all SuperPro product pages to your website at no cost.

Production Programming by SuperPro Gang Programmers

Since SuperPro 5004 series gang programmers have been launched in 2008, a new era has started for universal gang programmers industry. The market has migrated from conventional gang programmers design to faster speed, high technology SuperPro production programming solutions. So what has changed with SuperPro 5004 Gang programmers:

  1. For traditional gang programmers, all sockets controlled by one processor and one data buffer which limits some important features unlike SuperPro programmers provides.

  2. For traditional gang programmers, programming of chips is done simultaneously but verifying is done sequentially. In other words, the 8 socket programmer may only provide 5 to 6 times the output instead of 8. But you get the full outcome out of SuperPro gang programmers with its built-in RISC MCU.

  3. Xeltek gang programmers are equipped with 144-pin drivers by default unlike other 48-pin gang programmers with limited device support.

  4. Xeltek gang programmers support over 58K devices by being the industry leader as supporting largest device count. 60K device support is around the corner.

  5. Asynchronous fast programming is ensured by each module being independent from one another. The programming starts automatically when a chip is inserted.

  6. With SuperPro 5004GP programming family, 1 Gb NAND Flash can be programmer as low as 108 seconds.

Currently SuperPro 5004GP and SuperPro 5004EGP are listed as two of the gang programming solutions for Xeltek's early 2010 product line. And these programmers are being highly demanded by engineering workshops, IC manufacturing labs, programming houses, etc...Basically any entity who is programming ICs in mass orders are either considering to switch SuperPro or already using our programmers.

What if 4 socket gang programmer is too much for your production line, and one socket single programmer is not enough? Have you ever heard of Clustered Programmers? With any stand-alone SuperPro programmer, you can cluster and use it as a gang programming solution. EspeciallySuperPro 501S 4-Cluster bundle is a preferred solution for this category. What are the advantages of clustered programming:

  1. Start small and grow incrementally. You may start with 2 units and add more units as the need grows.

  2. Clustering device programmers solution is based on operating in PC-free (stand-alone) mode and does not require any PC screen operation, and accordingly it minimizes the operator error.

  3. SuperPro Programmers can be operated by an inexperienced operator with minimal training.

  4. It allows a person to easily operate 10 or more programmers concurrently.

  5. Data security is maintained by removing the Compact Flash card at the end of each operation.

  6. Service is easy. If a unit breaks down, the rest of the system is still running while having the defective unit serviced.

Please take a look at the video where you can find demonstration of how to cluster SuperPro 501S in stand-alone mode:

Since 2010, Xeltek has been offering SuperPro 5004GP, SuperPro 5004EGP, and SuperPro 501S 4-C as production programming solutions. Considering the outcome, and the performance; SuperPro Gang Programmers once again gives the highest value in return. Please do not hesitate to contact us atsales@xeltek.com

Lifetime Device Support

Some companies are advertising that they provide “lifetime” device support. This sounds very good, but what does it really mean?

Users reading this will think that they will be able to get requested device support on their programmer as long as they own the programmer.

Manufacturers, on the other hand, have following constraints:

  1. Hardware limitation: Not all devices will be programmable on all types of programmers. Obviously, more expensive programmers are designed to support more devices. If you are concerned with future device support, choose from high-end programmers.

  2. Time constraint: Semiconductor devices advance in technology so that a new chip may not be programmable on an old programmer. For example, a 1.2 volt device will not be programmable on a 5 volt programmer.

  3. Warranty period: Service period for most products are bound by the manufacturer warranty period.

  4. Manufacturer resource: Device update is a time consuming task and the number of devices supported and supportable in the future are directly related to ompany’s ability to allocate such a resource. Larger company can provide more resource and vice versa.
Most companies are bound by all 4 constraints mentioned above. So, what does it mean by “lifetime device support.” All of above constraints, which is a “limited support”. Don’t be fooled by the word.

If you are interested in getting future device support, please check the following factors:

  1. How many devices are currently supported? SuperPro 5000 supports 58,000+ devices, the largest in the industry.

  2. How many new devices has the manufacturer added yearly? Xeltek has added 10,000+ devices yearly, again the largest in the industry.

  3. Trade-in policy: In the event that the user requested device is not updatable on the user programmer, is there an easy way to trade up? Yes, Xeltek offers between 30% - 75% trade-in value for trading up to one of Xeltek models.
In summary, Xeltek SuperPro 5000 programmer offers most current and future benefits of all the programmers in the market today.

Shining Star of the Industry: Xeltek SuperPro® and its Achievements

As of third week of Feb. 2010, Superpro5000/5004GP device support reached 58,149. This is the largest number in the industry today. So, what does this number mean and how is Xeltek able to support such a large number of devices?

First, Xeltek has 25 years history in the programming business with vast accumulation of technical expertise in which originally found in 1985 under another name until its name had been changed to Xeltek in 1991. Xeltek has a large team of development engineers with experience lasting for more than 15 years in one company. This is a feature, which few other companies can claim.

Second, we make it our goal to support any and all programmable devices available in the market. Our dedicated staffs scour IC manufacturer industry in order to find new devices to support. We do not wait until customers contact us for support.

Third, Xeltek upgrades programmer hardware continuously in order to be able to support new devices. Circuit development has migrated by following the sequence from a simple FPGA based >> 8bit MCU +FPGA >> ARM7 MCU+ FPGA + Linux >> ARM9 MCU + Linux+ FPGA and now toward ARM11 MCU+ FPGA + Linux. Such a dedication is aimed at providing full support for all programmable devices available in the industry.

Xeltek aims to provide high quality and performance products at a reasonable cost. Xeltek China has been set up and in operation since 1992. It has been growing steadily over the years expanding in engineering, manufacturing, sales, and support. As a result, we are proud to provide high performance products at very reasonable cost to customers in the world market today.

Xeltek adds more than 1,000 new devices each month. Users download updated list free from Xeltek website. Users of SuperPro 3000U have seen their device count doubling in the last several years just like SuperPro 5000/5004GP showed the similar success last year. Their programmer value have increased substantially over time! Many companies talk about providing free device updates, but only Xeltek delivers true high value to users each and every year.

Xeltek SuperPro 5000/5004GP currently supports 58K+ devices and 60K device support maybe already passed while you are reading this article. This is a true milestone and a new standard of the industry unmatched by any other company.

Stand-alone and PC mode programming technology was perfected and made practical by Xeltek and has been in use for the last 6 years. As a result, Xeltek programmers are well adapted for both Engineering development and volume manufacturing. Currently, Xeltek programmers occupy more than 70% of the very large Chinese Engineering and Manufacturing market. Expensive automated programmers have been largely driven out from the Chinese market and replaced by Xeltek SuperPro Stand-alone programmers. Both Data I/O and BPM System has limited presence in the country today. One will often find that a large electronic manufacturer will use 100’s of Xeltek programmers in their manufacturing line.

We are proud of where we are right now, and our parabolic-ally increasing success will continue...

Quick peek to BeeProg Programmers

Here is a quick evaluation of BeeProg+/2 programmers:

1. Max 48pindrivers: Economized hardware design, which is a socket adapter nightmare for large pin-count devices. For example, there are 50 versions of QFP64 socket adapters. SuperPro 5000/500E/5004/5004E models come with 144pindrivers enabling easy support for today’s complex devices.

2. No Stand-alone programming capability: Stand-alone mode allows programmers to be used also in manufacturing. A person can easily operate 10 or more units for production programming without being attached to a PC. SuperPro 501S stand-alone operation allows 10 or more units to be operated simultaneously by a user without being attached to a PC. Multi-programming supported by BeeProg requires a PC with USB Hub. This requires an additional investment of a PC, a trained operator, desktop space, etc.

3. FPGA controlled hardware design: In this outmoded hardware design, programming operation becomes pc speed and operating system dependent, which causes unreliable operation for many sensitive devices. SuperPro 5000 family is ARM7/9 MCU based for high performance and precision operation. Xeltek dropped FPGA based design 10 years ago.

4. 1.8 volts min. device support: Will not be able to support today’s high performance devices. Cannot be used in most new design. SuperPro 5000 family support 1.2 volts devices.

The Fact: SuperPro 5000 w/ 144-pin vs. 48-pin Programmers

Xeltek has been serving the market with special designed 100-pin expandable module, SuperPro 3000U programmers since 2004. And since early 2008, SuperPro 5000 and SuperPro 5004GP programmers are on the market with 144 pins support by default. So, why are we developing larger pin count device programmers? The answer is obvious, to support recent large pin devices with the least required accessories not to create any extra costs for our invaluable customers.

Becoming the industry's larger device supported brand, and following the recent technology at the same time doesn't happen so easily. So called many European and Far East Asian Manufacturers are still in-capable of improving their products for many years and still serving the market with their old technology by finding temporary solutions to support large pin devices. For example, a European Manufacturer offers only 48-pin socket programmers while they are obsessed with reaching Xeltek's device support count. However, having only 48-pin programmers will cause problems when a device has more than 48 pins. In order to fit larger than 48-pin device onto 48-pin socket you will need to select certain pins from the device and channel down to the socket. But, since each device uses different pin configurations, you will need to find a different set of pins to channel down to the programmer socket for each device type. This means you have to create a unique socket adapter for each device type for the same package type. Recall our example, same European Manufacturer has almost 50 different QFP64 socket adapters because of creating different pin channels for different QFP64 devices just to bring it down to work with their 48-pin device programmer!!!

This is why we created SuperPro 3000U-100 and SuperPro 5000 with 144 pins. On either model, you need only one QFP64 socket adapter. SuperPro 5000 family with 144pin drivers support 3 times as many pin-drivers as any 48pin socket programmer can support.

There are many pin-driver PCBs installed inside Superpro5000 family of programmers. This makes the programmer larger and also more expensive. But this also makes the programmer more convenient to support large size devices and requires only one universal socket adapter instead of many specialized adapters.

In addition to the pin-driver advantage, Superpro5000 family programmers come with a host of new technological advances such as, Stand-alone & PC mode operation instead of PC mode only, ARM7/9 32bit MCU with Linux control instead of FPGA control only, low 1.2 volts device programming instead of 1.8volts, Win7 support, etc... All combined, Xeltek product technology is about 10 years ahead of other competing products in the market.

Those 48-pin socket programmers usually sell between $800 to $1200 while SuperPro 5000 144-pin programmers sell between $1495 to $1995. However, considering the frequent socket adapter needs for different device types, maintaining a 48-pin programmer cost a fortune eventually, while it seems cheaper than SuperPro 5000 programmers. For this obvious reason, we would like invite you to spend your money wisely, and get the best programmer by choosing SuperPro; because WE KNOW WHAT YOU WANT, AND THAT'S WHY WE ARE HERE!!!
